A Comparative Study on Some Herbicidies Selectivity and Efficiency in Weed Control on Winter Wheat in the Banats Plaine Area

    ABSTRACT

The research has been carried on between 2000-2001 on the experimental field of the USAMVB in Timisoara. Drought conditions in the first experimental year determined both appearance of a low number of weed /ha and a relatively low wheat yield in comparison with the following year. The best results in weed control on winter wheat cultures were obtained in 2000 by applying the herbicides Lancet, Mustang, and Oxytril M (92.2 – 86.5%), and in 2001 the herbicides Mustang, Oxytril M, Lancet and Harmony 75 DF (96.1 – 91.4 %). Applying these herbicides, led to yields between 183-346 kg/ha in the first year and of 398-910 kg/ha in the second year. All tested herbicides were selective for winter wheat, with no toxicity effect whatsoever.
