Summary
At our areas not enough attention has been given to the forest fruits or a wild, fruit that is in the forestry practice as well as in the fruit gronjing practice. People in the forestry practice are only interested in the wood of the more valuable sorts of trees, and fruit growers are only interested in the fruits of the cultivated sorts of fruit trees. However, the importance of wild (forest) fruits is huge, especially if we bear in mind increased interest in the ecological agricultural production. Sorbus domestica L. is a fruit, which according to polmological classification is classified in a group of pomoidae fruits, and even thought its fruit is tasteful and medicinal, and its tree is of good qjuality, still it is not being used in production. Sorbus domestica L. is a rare fruit at our areas, and it is dieing out slonjly because it’s breeding in the nature is difficult. In some of the Western European countries (Germany, France) it is highly appreciated fruit and is being bred in orchards, and its fruits are being used in food industry, consumed fresh or as wines and juices. S. domestica L. is a long lasting plant. It can grow old even up to 300 years. It has decorative tree and its wood is really strong and of high quality, so we can say it is appreciated in a wood-manufacturing production as well. The subject of this study is a research on polmological features of fruit and seed quality of three genotypes of S. domestica L., which wjere found at three different locations at the hill over Banja Luka, Starcevica. The main data about the soil structure and type of the location , where fruits of S. domestica L. were found, are attached to the study, as well as the information about potential vegetation.
