SUMMARY

In the two years period (1995 and 1996 ) the investigations of the effect of sowing terms to the yield and seed quality of sunflower were carried out. The hibrid NS-H-45 was sowed in seven terms, starting from the middle of third decade of March, to the rniddle of the third decade of Mau. In the two years period, in the first four sowing terms obtained seed yield varied from 3091 to 3201 kg/ha. Among these combinations, the highest seed yield was achieved in the second sowing term. In the terms of sowing in Mau, seed yield was 8.2 – 26.3 % lower compared to the second sowing term. Among the combinations of sowing terms, a signiflcant difference in oil and protein content in sunflower has not ʹeep noticed.
