SUMMARY

Cow milk is the first and only calf food, and is often considered as one of the most important nutrients for children. Therefore, it is of a great importance to know what iz quality of milk consumed by calves, as well as by people in this region. Lead is one of the most harmful heavy metals for the human and animal organism. It comes to organism by inhalation (breathing) or by food (indigestion). We found lead content few times higher regarding lawfully allwed values. Lead content in milk depended of the distance from the potential pollutioner (melting hous of Trepča), as well as of vegetation season.
