SUMMARY

The problem of soil erosion in the Lovnica Torrential Brook basin was studied in this paper. The following natural erosion factors were examined: relief, the characteristics of which contributed to the process, geological substrate of moderate erosion resistance, soils being shallow and having medium and high erosion degree, climate and its characteristics causing erosion and vegetation, protecting soil from the erosion process. These natural Lovnica basin erosion factors caused total mean annual production of soil erosion material of 6, 576.18 m3 , meaning that 3.3 ha of soil down to a depth of 20 cm are eroded each year.
